Laughing At The Bridge Part 2:
Can You Mend The Broken?
Summary:
A whole group of children is chasing Wander and Sylvia down
for some reason, they have to team up with Lord Hater and
Peepers when Wander's life is put in danger by the children and
adults of the planet that they are on, what a way to spend the
first year anniversary of being friends.
Chapter 1
A whole year, they've known each for a year. Sylvia couldn't believe
it as the child she's been traveling with her for a year slept. The child,
a star nomad named Wander slept at her left side, using his hat as a
sleeping bag as Sylvia had her left arm wrapped around him in a firm
protective grip. The boy would be turning seven-years-old in 14
weeks and instead of spending it with his parents and three siblings,
he was spending it with her. It isn't the first time he's spent the
celebration of his birth alone. Sylvia had to remind herself that this is
the second birthday that Wander's family hasn't been there to
celebrate with him.
Sylvia looked to her right to see the sun rising over the horizon and
rose in the sky starting a new day for Cholatune and the
Cholatunians. And for Sylvia, that meant only a few hours of peace
and quiet until Wander would eventually wake up. Sylvia slowly
picked Wander up and placed him where she was laying. Sylvia
stood up and stretched every limb of her body and turned back to the
sun to see it had reached the flat part of the mountain that she and
Wander had slept and spent the night on. Wander shifted a little in
his hat and turned all the way to his belly. Sylvia chuckled and
walked over and scooped the boy and hat up and placed them on
her back.
"Syl?"
Sylvia felt Wander put his hands on her back as he climbed out of his
hat. He sat up on her saddle and Sylvia watched Wander put his hat
on the top of his head. He yawned and looked around and realized
that they were on the mountain.
"Good morning buddy, how did you sleep?" Sylvia asked.
"G-" Wander yawned and stretched. "Good."
"That's good." Sylvia said. "Now, do you want me to make breakfast,
or do you want to go to that diner that Sage told us about?"
"The diner!" Wander replied cheerfully.
Sylvia gave the nomad child a laugh and nodded her head. She
walked around until she found the bridge that Sage had also told the
two about and how they would need to get to the other village on the
mountain called Chomno. And from Chomno, they would arrive at
Liorina after a very long walk if they wanted to refill their orbble juice.
Before Sylvia put one foot on the bridge, she remembered their
routine before they left somewhere, look for Wander's family.
"Hey Wander do...do you want to look for your parents and siblings?"
Sylvia asked.
Wander didn't respond and that worried Sylvia. Wander's been
keeping the search for his parents going on for two years, before he
met Sylvia, before he met Hater, before Peepers, before he met
anyone in this galaxy. Wander wasn't a person to give up, not on his
friends, not on the villains, not on anybody.
"About that Syl." Wander spoke and some relief came to Sylvia.
"What about it Wander?" Sylvia asked and took Wander's hands into
hers. "You can tell me and I promise you I won't be mad at you at
all."
Wander sighed and looked away. "I think we should stop looking for
my family.
Chapter 2
Chapter 2
"Wander?"
Wander burried his face into Sylvia's neck as tears left him. He
shouldn't have said that he wanted to give up looking for his parents,
brother, and sister. Wander felt Sylvia lift his head and place both
hands on the left and right side of his face.
"A-Am...I-I a-a bad person?" Wander asked.
"No." Sylvia answered with a firm tone. "No you are not. Wander, you
are the most kindest, sweetest, and most helpful little boy that I've
ever met."
Wander smiled and raised his head up to Sylvia's chin. Sylvia
returned the smile and kissed Wander's forehead and started to run
her right hand through the fur on the right side of his face. Once
again, Sylvia took Wander's hands into hers and her smile
disappeared.
"And the who reason why you don't have no family with you anymore
is on them, not you." Sylvia told the boy.
"Everyone knows what happened to me." Wander replied.
That was true. From the good to the bad, everyone knew Wander's
story. A six-year-old was basically abandoned by two adults, who
created him, his parents abandoned Wander. And Wander's own
siblings didn't protest or stay with them. Personally, Sylvia would
never ever let Wander go back to those people. If Sylvia had to go to
court on whatever planet or galaxy they were in, she would go to
court for this little boy and try to make sure that he has a better
childhood for the next almost 11 years.
"I'm sorry buddy, I'm so sorry that I've been a bad friend and
guardian to you and not stopping everyone from knowing what
happened to you." Sylvia apologized.
"It's ok, I guess." Wander said glumly. Wander laid down with his
belly pressing against Sylvia's saddle. Sylvia sighed and gently
kissed Wander's forehead again.
"How about we get some food in us." Sylvia suggested.
Wander smiled and nodded. "Ok, let's go eat. I heard Sage say that
diner has that new arcade game that was released last week."
Sylvia rolled her eyes and chuckled. Of course, besides the food,
Wander would also be after that new arcade game.
Chapter 3
Chapter 3
A loud burp could be heard as Sylvia and Wander left the diner.
Sylvia, who had a half awake Wander snuggling into his hat while
the star nomad rubbed his belly, also let out her own burp after
thanking a man for holding the door open for them and to see the
man to give the two a disgusted look. Sylvia shrugged her shoulders
and continued walking. A few minutes later, they were close to
leaving Chomno, when suddenly a bunch of shouting came from the
middle of the village.
"Sylvia?" Wander asked, now sitting up.
"Hold on buddy, I just want to check this out" Sylvia told the child.
Sylvia got closer to the middle of the village and saw that there were
a bunch of kids that were at least six or seven years older than
Wander. Sylvia hid behind a tree, but she was still able to see what
was happening or going to happen. Before Sylvia knew it, everyone
went quite and the children started to leave.
"Syl, what's going on?" Wander asked.
"I...I don't know Wander, but all the kids are leaving now." Sylvia
replied.
Sylvia watched as all the kids returned to separate houses. What the
grop was that about? Sylvia wondered. Wander whimpered and
Sylvia shushed him so he wouldn't draw any attention. That's the last
thing Sylvia needed, these weird kids knowing that they were there
and she didn't know ask her and Wander to join them. And there was
no way she was having her buddy join that group.
"Wow spying on my little sister and her friends. That's a huge low
lady."
Sylvia jumped once she heard the voice. She turned around to see a
young yellow Binglebop boy standing there. Sylvia quickly turned to
face the Binglebop so he didn't see Wander. And that turned out to
become a struggle because Wander was trying to find a way to see
the Binglebop too.
"I know you have your kid with you lady." The Binglebop said with his
arms crossed.
"Hi!" Wander made his already knowned presence even more
knowned to the Binglebop.
"Hi." The Binglebop changed his tone to a gentler kind of tone when
he spoke to Wander. "My name's Match, what's yours?"
"I'm Wander and she's Sylvia." Wander introduced himself and his
best friend/guardian.
"That's a nice name, both of your names sound like nice names."
Match said.
"Thanks." Sylvia thanked him. "Sorry for the spying, it's just those
kids were shouting and I just wanted to see what it was about."
Sylvia pointed to where she last saw the kids and Match followed to
where Sylvia was pointing and sighed when he realized what Sylvia
was pointing at. Both zbornak and star nomad watched as Match
walked towards the middle of the village.
"Mint, my little half-sister is a part of that group. They say they just
hang out to get away from the chaos that our village is getting itself
in, but I know that it's more than just kids from 13 to 14 hanging out."
Match told the two.
"What do you mean Match?" Wander asked.
"I don't know, but I've just got this feeling that it is more than a hang
out group." Match answered Wander's question.
Before Sylvia got a chance to ask her question, a loud sound that
sounded like it came from a trumpet from the east part of the village
was heard by the three. Match grabbed Sylvia's hands and led her
and Wander back to the path that led outside the village. Match
didn't explain or say goodbye and that only left a very confused
Wander and Sylvia. Wander looked around, while Sylvia took this as
that meant she had to get Wander and herself out of there. Adjusting
her saddle, Sylvia started speed walking down the path.
"Um Syl?" Wander grabbed his guardian's attention. "What do you
think that was about?"
"I have no clue bud, so I'm on the same boat as you." Sylvia
responded.
Wander didn't say anything else, he just sat on the saddle and stared
at the village as Sylvia walked. As the zbornak and star nomad got
farther and farther away, Wander saw something that made him
really scared. Behind a couple of the village's buildings, he saw two
red eyes staring menacingly at him. And this definitely topped Lord
Hater at scaring him.

Chapter 4
The walk took nine hours just to get to Liorina. The bright city lights
made Wander pull two pair of sunglasses, one dark blue and one
red, and handed the dark blue sunglasses to Sylvia and kept the red
ones for himself. Sylvia walked and walked until her feet hurt than
they already were. And thankfully, they finally found a orbble juice
refill station. Sylvia looked left and right even when the sign said it
was ok to cross. Once they reached the orbble juice refill station,
their hopes of finally getting off the planet disappeared once they
saw that the station was closed.
"Great, just great." Sylvia mumbled. She turned to Wander who was
barley staying awake. "Guess we have to stay in a hotel, buddy."
"O-" Wander stopped to yawn. "Ok Sylvia."
Wander slumped over and soon the only sound that left the boy was
snowing. Sylvia shook her head but smiled. The zbornak walked
back across and started a search for a hotel to stay in. As she
walked on the sidewalk and crossed many streets, it was hard to find
a hotel that didn't have a casino in it that was mentioned on the sign.
Something wet dropped onto Sylvia's nose and a few seconds later it
started sprinkling and that just made her search even harder.
"Hey Zbornak!"
Sylvia looked over to see a man with red fur waving at her. Sylvia
rushed over and the man held the door open for her. TRANQUIEL
EXPANSE HOTEL was written on the sign above Sylvia's head.
Sylvia took off her sunglasses and did the same for Wander. The
man who helped them walked up to a woman with pink fur and he
motioned for Sylvia to come over. Once Sylvia got over to the two,
the pink furred girl gave Sylvia a set of keys and a plastic card.
"River will come give you and your son your breakfast in the
morning." The red furred man said.
"My son?" Sylvia looked at Wander. "Oh, no he's my...friend's son.
I'm just watching him until they come back from their wedding
anniversary." Sylvia lied.
"Oh. Well room 27 is right down there." The red furred man pointed
to the left hallway.
Before Sylvia could take a step in that direction, River blocked her.
"I'll go with them Eli."
"Um, ok, go right ahead." Eli said and walked off. Once Eli was gone
and out of earshot, River grabbed Sylvia by her arm and made their
eyes lock onto each other.
"I know who of you are, both of you." River said.
"Y-you do?" Sylvia asked.
"You're Sylvia Zbornack." River pointed at Sylvia. "And he's Wander,
the boy who's family abandoned him. And you've been looking after
this child when he's gotten you in trouble time after time."
Sylvia got this feeling building up inside her, a feeling like she was
starting to know where River was going at. "I can handle him, I've put
up with Eli for years."
Sylvia started backing up away from River. "Heck no, Wander
doesn't mean to get us in trouble, he just wants to help."
The keys and card were dropped by now. Sylvia was getting ready to
run out of there, but her plan was ruined when she heard a yawn.
Looking behind her, Sylvia saw that Wander was now awake.
Looking past Sylvia's head, Wander saw River and waved.
"Syl? Is everything alright?" Wander asked.
Sylvia hesitated before answering. "Yeah bud, everything's alright. I
just dropped the card and keys."
"I'll get it!" Wander said once he found the two objects near Sylvia's
left foot and handed them back to Sylvia.
"Thanks Wander." Sylvia reluctantly thanked six-year-old.
She couldn't leave now, not with Wander watching on. Avoiding the
hotel employee, Sylvia took off towards the left hallway. Room 27
was seven down on the right and Sylvia slammed it closed and
locked it once she entered. Sylvia laid Wander on the left side of the
bed and collapsed on the right side of the bed. Wander climbed over
to his guardian and curled up in her arms. And in return, Sylvia
wrapped her arms tightly around the boy.
"I love you Sylvia." Wander told Sylvia.
"I love you too buddy." Sylvia told the child right back. "I love you
too."
Chapter 5
Chapter 5
Wander yawned as he rode on Sylvia's back. Just like Sylvia said,
they had left the hotel pretty early, 3:02 a.m. in fact. Sylvia walked
back to the orbble juice refill station and thankfully this time it was
open. Wander pulled their bottle and Sylvia hooked it up and
watched as the refilling started. Wander looked around as they
waited and realized somebody was coming out of the hotel. It was
River, the lady that he had seen when he and Sylvia first arrived at
the hotel. River ran behind a tree when Sylvia looked over to where
she was. Wander tapped the back of Sylvia's head gaining the
zbornak's attention.
"Hey Syl, I'm going to go walk around." Wander told her.
"Ok, but don't go that far." Sylvia said.
Wander got to the tree and ended up finding River. He waved, but
she didn't say anything. He waved a second time, a third time, even
a fourth time, and River still didn't say or wave back to the child.
Finding it really weird, Wander started to walk back to Sylvia.
Suddenly, something grab his right arm. The grip was hard and tight,
and it was close to bone crushing.
"Hey! Miss River! Let go!" Wander cried for his arm's freedom.
"But if you come with me, then you can have a good life." River told
the boy.
"I do have a good life!" Wander argued as he pulled.
"Wandering the galaxy with a complete stranger is a good life?"
River asked, but Wander could pick up on the irritation in her voice.
"Yes!" Wander shouted his answer. "Sylvia! Sylvia!"
Sylvia sighed, finally she and Wander were getting off this stupid
planet. She was about to call for Wander when she realized Wander
was gone. He was nowhere near the station.
"Wander?" Sylvia asked trying to hide the nervousness in her voice.
"Sylvia!" Just hearing Wander scream made Sylvia start running to
where she heard his screams which was coming from her left.
Sylvia ran and ran. She could see two things, one pink which was
obviously River, and one was orange, Wander. Sylvia picked her
pace as all three of them crossed the street. Just the cries and
screams of Wander wanting to be let go broke Sylvia's heart.
Wander was in trouble because of her. If she left when River tried the
first time to take Wander from her. A loud boom came from Sylvia's
right. The three looked up at the sky.
Sylvia, after six months after Dominator was defeated, felt relieved
when she saw the Skullship. The tounge came out and out came
Lord Hater, Commander Peepers, and the watchdogs. And just
seeing their eyes lock as they got closer gave Sylvia an idea,
hopefully a good idea that could rescue Wander.
"Hey Lord Hater! This lady is going to destroy me and Wander and
it's not going to be you!"
Chapter 6
Chapter 6
"SHE'S WHAT?!"
Just like Sylvia thought, Lord Hater and Commander Peepers
ordered the watchdogs to chase down River. River in a obvious
panic, let go of Wander and started running out of Liorina. Sylvia
backed away from the group as slowly as possible before and
grabbing the orbble juice, grabbing Wander, and creating a orbble
bubble. She ran out of Cholatune's atmosphere. Sylvia moved the
bubble behind Cholatune's single moon. She didn't hear no Hater
shouting from the Skullship, so maybe he was still chasing River.
Looking at the boy in her arms as she panted, it wasn't long for
Wander to burst into tears. He sobbed as Sylvia held him tightly and
rocked him gently in her arms. Sylvia kissed the left side of his head,
the right side, and stopped at his forehead. A few minutes later, the
crying subsided and Wander looked up at his guardian.
"Sylvia?"
"Yeah?"
"Please can we at least try to never go through that again." Wander
asked. Sylvia could only smile and nod.
"Never again buddy."

"The Mad Groove, strange name for a restaurant, huh Wander?"
Wander just shrugged and went back to playing with his food. Sylvia
sighed, Wander hadn't been his happy or talkative self for three
days. Sure, once and a while he would, but he kept it just small talk.
Just talk to him. Sylvia sighed again knowing where this wasn't going
to end well.
"Bud, talk to me." Sylvia said.
"About what?" Wander asked.
"Like how you're feeling." Sylvia said.
"What's there to talk about? I've been having nightmares for three
nights that you, Hater, and Peepers die when you try to rescue me
from River again." Wander responded.
"What happens after we die in your nightmares?" Sylvia asked.
"I'm forced to be her k-kid." Wander answered. "A-And she was s-s-
so mean! She wouldn't...she wouldn't..."
Sylvia pulled Wander across the table and into her arms once he
started to cry. Sylvia gave everyone else a glare once she realized
that everyone else was staring at them. Come judge my buddy and
you'll end up in the castle for months. Sylvia threatened in her mind.
A few minutes later, Wander stopped and looked at the zbornak.
"You ok?" Sylvia asked and Wander nodded his head.
Sylvia picked up her and Wander's plates and dumped the food in
the trashcan. After putting the plates in a basket so they could be
washed, Sylvia picked Wander up and placed him on her back.
Sylvia walked out of The Mad Groove and shivered. She had
forgotten that Yenneucury, the planet that The Mad Groove was on,
had a very cold climate. Wander pulled out a orange coat for him
and a blue wool blanket for Sylvia. Sylvia made sure she took her
time as she walked through the snow and ice covered sidewalks.
Wander looked up to the sky and gasped once he saw a all too
familiar skull shaped ship pulling up to the area of the planet that
Wander and Sylvia were at.
"Um Syl?" Sylvia looked at Wander to see Wander pointing up at the
sky. "Look."
Sylvia looked up like Wander said and gasped just like Wander had
done earlier. There was no way Hater had found them this quickly.
Yenneucury was 30 planets east of Cholatune. But, here he was.
"Oh dear grop."
Chapter 8
Chapter 8
The Yenneucureyians, Wander, and Sylvia watched as the tongue
reached the snow-covered ground. Wander was pushed behind
Sylvia and the zbornak got her fists ready to punch a bunch of
watchdogs. But, instead of Hater, Peepers, and the watchdogs, it
was a bunch of kids. Sylvia counted off at least a thousand kids were
coming out of the Skullship. There was just no way that all these kids
could take down Hater and his army, it was usually Sylvia and
Wander. Wander whimpered and wrapped his arms around Sylvia's
neck as he watched more kids came out. Sylvia recounted as best
as she could and ended up counting at least 1,027 kids.
"What in the world is happening?"
"What does it look like?"
Wander ignored the others and kept clinging to Sylvia's neck.
Wander's whimpering turned into tears once he saw the person who
had tried to kidnap him. Sylvia started to back away and tried to find
a way to get away from the growing crowd. Got to get out of here.
Was the only thought that came to Sylvia as she walked. Got to get
Wander out of here.
"Syl, I want to go. I don't want to be taken away from you again."
Wander sobbed.
Sylvia nuzzled the boy in response. "You won't, I won't let her do it
again."
Sylvia took off Wander's hat so it wouldn't give them away to River
and the kids. Sylvia looked back at the star nomad child and
watched the orange color leave Wander's fur-covered body as he
shakes like a leaf while sitting on her saddle. Sylvia pushed past the
remaining of the crowd and held onto Wander's hat once the wind
started up.
"Hey, Zbornak!"
If having his fur color halfway gone from his body, seeing two people
who have been trying to kill Wander and his best friend/guardian
surely made the remaining orange color leave. No Hatey, please not
now. Wander pleaded inside his head. Sylvia was about to run when
her tail was grabbed.
"Hey!" Sylvia shouted.
"Shh! Do you want us to get captured?!" Hater hissed.
Wander sat on his knees while staying on Sylvia's back. Looking
behind Hater's back, Wander saw Peepers looking around widely
with his eye widen in fear. Bruises covered the eyeball and the
lighting bolt on Peepers's helmet was broken off only leaving a little
bit of it left on the black helmet. Wander reached a hand over to the
watchdog commander and kept an eye on Hater and Sylvia as they
argued. Peepers rushed over and helped himself onto Sylvia's back.
Peepers looked back to the group of children and realized that all of
them were looking at the four other aliens.
"S-Sir, S-Sylvia." Peepers's stuttered.
The skeleton and Zbornak turned to the watchdog and saw what he
was pointing at. It didn't help that the children were now climbing
onto the gigantic piles of snow. Hater pushed Sylvia ahead of him
and she imminently started running. Hater did too and looked around
as he ran and found the forest that could be seen by anyone as they
approached Yenneucury. And they could also see a building in a
large clearing in the middle of the forest.
"In the woods! Go to the woods!" Hater shouted at his enemy.
Sylvia wanted to argue with the villain, but she decided to go against
it. She didn't want to see Wander being kidnapped by River again.
And she could guess Hater didn't want the same thing to happen to
Peepers. She ran into the forest and didn't stop. She didn't stop until
she tripped on a log and landed face-first into the snow. The same
thing happened to Hater and the two breathed heavily.
"Syl!"
"Sir!"
Wander and Peepers ran over to the skeleton and Zbornak. Wander
tried shaking Sylvia while Peepers was holding Hater's head as his
boss's breath could be felt by the watchdog. Wander could see that
Peepers was shaking bad, even worse than when Wander saw River
again.
"Mr. Peepers, we have to go find help." Wander told the watchdog.
"No! I'm not leaving Hater!" Peepers yelled. "I'm not letting him get
captured!"
"And not getting him and Sylvia help is a better idea?" The child
asked.
"W-Wander..."
"Mr. Peepers, please. You helped me when we were stuck on
Gudorus." Wander pleaded.
Peepers sighed and let go of Hater's head. Slowly lowering his lord's
head onto the snow, Peepers walked over to Wander and took
Wander's right hand into his own. Wander grabbed his hat back from
Sylvia's hands and placed it back on his head. Peepers looked back
at Hater and Sylvia one more time before following Wander into the
deeper parts of the forest. They were going to find somebody to
help, it wasn't something that Peepers thought he would ever believe
in. But, he was with Wander, the boy who hasn't stopped trying to
make Hater and himself his and Sylvia's friends. So, if Wander
wasn't giving up with that, then he wouldn't give up now. And
Peepers hoped that Wander would keep it that way.
Chapter 9
Chapter 9
"Mr. Peepers!"
Peepers looked at Wander to see the child was pointing at a stone
made path. There was barely any snow or ice on it. Peepers
grabbed Wander's right hand again and ran up the steep hill that the
path started on the top of the hill. The two walked down the path until
they realized that they were in a tallgrass area. Unlike the path that
they were walking on, the tall grass was covered in snow. They kept
walking until they reached the end which led to a large barn.
"Whoa!" Wander shouted while Peepers stayed quiet.
Peepers took out his blaster and walked in front of Wander. The
watchdog led the star nomad child into the barn and the two were
greeted by a horrible smell. Wander was the first to find what it was
and gagged at the sight of it. Peepers walked over and also gagged
too at when he saw the same thing that Wander had seen.
"That's gross!" Peepers nodded in agreement at what Wander had
said.
"Do you think that there's at least somebody who lives here?"
Peepers asked after grabbing Wander's left hand.
"I don't know, but we better hope they're at least bigger than both
Sylvia and Hater." Wander answered. "Or can at least carry two
people that heavy."
Peepers really started to give up as the time passed of the two
searching the barn. He only found a dresser and pulled one of the
drawers open and found a couple of water bottles, at least two, and
one key. No food or anything else, just two water bottles and a key.
Peepers was about to call for Wander to see if the child had found
anything, but the sound of growling coming from the barn's entrance.
Peepers slowly walked over to Wander and started to pull over to
over to a pile of hay but stopped once he saw two blood-red eyes
staring angrily at the both of them. No pupils, just full-on blood red-
colored eyes staring at them. Why? Peepers thought. Why does it
have to be Gudorus all over again?
Chapter 10
Chapter 10
Peepers didn't move at all. He didn't even move his blaster. It took a
while before the watchdog even moved his right hand towards
Wander's own hand. Slowly, Peepers pulled the star nomad child
behind him.
"M-Mr. P-Peepers..." Wander whispered.
"It's ok," Peepers whispered, even though he knew that he was lying
to the child and to himself. "I'm right here Wander, I'm right here."
"Storm!"
Wander and Peepers watched as the red eyes disappear. Peepers
walked slowly over to the barn's doors and peeked out the small
crack. He saw a grey-furred creature pointing at another grey-furred
creature but this one was on all fours. Wander looked at Peepers
who gave him the same look that he was giving the watchdog
commander. What the heck is going on? Peepers wondered.
"Storm what did I tell you about running off? You scared me to death!
Not everybody is used to you yet!" The grey-furred creature scolded
the other.
Peepers could get a better look at it this time and realized that it was
a girl. Peepers turned and picked Wander up and started slowly
walking away. Before the commander knew it, he was picked up by
the scruff of his uniform, and Wander was dropped from his arms
and landed in the snow. Looking up, he saw it was the grey four-
legged creature.
"Storm! Drop him!" Both Peepers and Storm turned towards the girl
who was pointing one finger down towards the snow. "Come on
Storm, drop the watchdog!"
Storm dropped Peepers and he landed in the snow. Wander crawled
over and held onto Peepers who brought Wander in his arms again.
They didn't know what this girl was either going to make her pet do
or what she was going to them herself.
"The name's Gloria Dorsey." The girl who was now known as Gloria
introduced herself. "And you already met my pet Drotein, Storm."
Storm walked over and laid down next to Gloria. "Good boy."
"What's a Drotein?" Wander asked looking at his temporary
caregiver and Gloria.
"It lives in a different galaxy really, really far away from ours,"
Peepers answered.
"The Acallaris Galaxy, that's where Storm and I are from," Gloria
added more to Peepers's answer. "And a Drotein is an alien that
lives mostly in a forest with others."
Wander wiggled free from Peepers's arms and walked over to Storm.
"Does he still have a mommy and daddy?"
"Just his dad, Aaron, and older sister Amber," Gloria answered.
"Oh, " Wander said and slowly moved his hand to try to pet Storm.
And this time, Storm didn't become angry, he let the child pet his
head. "I don't have parents or siblings anymore anyways."
Gloria looked at Peepers who started to become nervous. "What
does that mean?"
Peepers immediately pulled Wander over back to him. "L-let's not
talk about that right now, ok?"
Wander nodded and went back to petting Storm. "Ok, Mr. Peepers."
Gloria was pulled not too far away from the child and her pet. She
looked at the watchdog, still confused about what Wander meant.
Gloria looked back at Storm just to make sure he was still behaving
around Wander.
"What was that about?" Gloria asked Peepers.
"Tell you later, right now we need help. My boss and Wander's friend,
Sylvia passed out when we got to the forest. And I'm not that strong
to lift both a skeleton and Zbornak at the same time, so I wa-"
"You were wondering if I could help?" Gloria cut Peepers off and the
watchdog nodded. "Ok, let's go, you two can lead the way."
Peepers nodded and turned to Wander. "Wander! Let's go!"
Wander climbed onto Storm's back which earned a giggle from
Gloria and an eye roll and a small smile from Peepers. Storm walked
over with the young child on his back and walked over to the
watchdog and his owner. Peepers grabbed onto Wander's left hand
to help with the child's balance since Storm didn't have a saddle like
Sylvia had. And off the four went to go get Hater and Sylvia who
were hopefully still where Peepers and Wander left them.

"HATE'S GREAT! BEST VILLAIN! HATE'S GREAT BEST VILLIAN!"
The shouting of watchdogs made Wander jump. Not only was he in a
scary town waiting for Sylvia to finish buying him and her dinner, but
now he was at risk of being captured once again. Wander banged on
the glass door and was immediately greeted by the manager. A tall
purple furred alien with wings to match his fur color. Ian was printed
on his messy apron which some of the food dripped onto the floor
inside.
"What do you need kid?" Ian asked.
"I need Sylvia! Sylvia Zbornak!" Wander shouted.
Ian turned towards the line made of 35 other aliens. "SYLVIA
ZBORNAK!"
A blue hand was raised and soon Sylvia stuck her head out. "Yes,
Mr. Ian?"
"THIS KID WITH THIS WEIRD GREEN HAT WANTS YOU!" Ian
once again screamed.
Geez, is it that loud in there? Wander wondered. Sylvia pushed
everyone back which caused Ian to scream at her. Stopping herself
from knocking Wander over, Sylvia grabbed Wander and moved him
to her back so he could sit on her saddle. Grabbing the reins, Sylvia
started running. She gave one look just to make sure Wander wasn't
causing a false alarm, she saw watchdogs heading straight for them.
"I didn't do anything to provoke them, Syl!" Wander shouted as the
Zbornak ran.
"I know bud, I know." Sylvia tried to smile to comfort Wander.
The bridge was the best way to escape the watchdogs. It was old
and it could possibly break with all the weight that the watchdogs
would add to it. Maybe it could break just from the weight of a grown
Zbornak and a six-year-old child. But she had to try.
"Syl! Where are we going?" Sylvia had heard Wander ask?
"Remember the bridge we had to walk on when we first got here?"
Sylvia turned her head to ask the young child.
"Yeah, mayor Mike told us to be careful while walking on it. What
abo-"
Wander realized what his best friend was talking about and nodded
in agreement with her plan. Sylvia picked up the pace and soon the
two could see the old bridge. The yelling of 'Hate's great, best villain!'
got louder and louder as Sylvia ran towards the bridge. Wander
gasped once she realized that he was starting to fall off.
"S-S-Sylvia!"
Before Wander knew it, he was thrown off of Sylvia's back and
thrown into the icy cold water. Another yell accompanied Wander's
own and another splash was heard by Wander even if he was
underwater. Swimming up and resurfacing from the cold temperature
liquid, he could see that it was Peepers who had been the second
person to fall into the water.
"M-Mr. P-Peepers?" Wander stuttered.
"PEEPERS!" The two heard Hater's voice.
"WANDER!" They then heard Sylvia scream.
"W-Wander..." Peepers looked over at the child. The watchdog
looked around frantically for some large piece of wood to put Wander
on. He spotted one that wasn't too far from him.
"W-Wander...c-come...h-h-here..."
Wander swam over and let the watchdog grab and place him on the
piece of wood. Peepers got on himself and started to look over the
child for cuts or any other injuries on the child. He ended up finding
nothing on the boy.
"W-What d-do w-we d-do M-Mr. P-Peepers?" Wander asked.
"W-We w-wait u-until we come a-across s-some l-land, o-o-okay?"
Peepers asked.
Wander nodded. "O-Okay."

"Wander, look."
The sun was setting by the time that Peepers had asked that. He
was sitting in Peepers's lap so he could get warm. He looked at
where Peepers was pointing at and saw a riverbank not too far from
where both he and Peepers were. Peepers jumped into the water
and dragged the large piece of wood with him as he swam. Finally
reaching the piece of land, Peepers dragged the wood onto the
grass. Peepers lifted Wander up and placed him onto his back.
"Mr. Peepers, I can walk." Wander told the watchdog, he didn't want
Peepers hurting himself by carrying him.
"It's ok, hopefully, Hater and Sylvia are on their way here or are
somewhere close." Peepers said.
Wander nodded in agreement to what Peepers told him. "Ok."

"Ivory Touch?"
Wander shook his head frantically bringing him back to reality. He
looked at Storm who was looking back and was giving Wander a big
smile as a greeting to Wander from coming back his daydream.
Wander looked at Peepers who waved at Wander, obviously, the
watchdog had seen that Wander had dazed off to his little daydream
world. Gloria and Peepers walked ahead of Wander and Storm as
they continued to talk.
"It's this gas that comes from either this plant or a fungus, I don't
really know which one yet. It doesn't affect me, but I have to cover up
Storm's nose because he gets a tummy ache." Gloria explained.
Wander looked around since they were at the entrance that he,
Sylvia, Peepers, and Hater, had entered and saw something blue.
Sylvia. Was the only name that came to Wander. He petted between
Storm's ears which made Storm look back at him. Wander pointed
over to what he saw and Storm saw it too.
"So, this River girl is trying to kidnap Wander to add to her child
army?" Gloria asked.
"It's either that or she just wants to kill him," Peepers answered.
"You'll have to ask Wa-"
Peepers stopped when he turned to where the child and Storm were
supposed to be, but they weren't there. Peepers's eye widen in
horror and he looked around frantically. Gloria did the same, but her
panic stopped for a while when she saw paw prints in the snow.
"Peepers!" Gloria called the watchdog over.
Peepers ran over and felt part of him fill with relief. Peepers grabbed
Gloria's hand and started running. Please not again, please not
again! Peepers thought. Please let him be ok, please let Wander be
ok.
