motioned for Sylvia to come over. Once Sylvia got over to the two,
the pink furred girl gave Sylvia a set of keys and a plastic card.
"River will come give you and your son your breakfast in the
morning." The red furred man said.
"My son?" Sylvia looked at Wander. "Oh, no he's my...friend's son.
I'm just watching him until they come back from their wedding
anniversary." Sylvia lied.
"Oh. Well room 27 is right down there." The red furred man pointed
to the left hallway.
Before Sylvia could take a step in that direction, River blocked her.
"I'll go with them Eli."
"Um, ok, go right ahead." Eli said and walked off. Once Eli was gone
and out of earshot, River grabbed Sylvia by her arm and made their
eyes lock onto each other.
"I know who of you are, both of you." River said.
"Y-you do?" Sylvia asked.
"You're Sylvia Zbornack." River pointed at Sylvia. "And he's Wander,
the boy who's family abandoned him. And you've been looking after
this child when he's gotten you in trouble time after time."
Sylvia got this feeling building up inside her, a feeling like she was
starting to know where River was going at. "I can handle him, I've put
up with Eli for years."
Sylvia started backing up away from River. "Heck no, Wander
doesn't mean to get us in trouble, he just wants to help."
The keys and card were dropped by now. Sylvia was getting ready to
run out of there, but her plan was ruined when she heard a yawn.
Looking behind her, Sylvia saw that Wander was now awake.
Looking past Sylvia's head, Wander saw River and waved.
